Ficus Productions is delighted to announce the completion of our latest short film, “Mumbai Wari”, a heartfelt story that captures the emotions, resilience, and undying spirit of Mumbai.
Written, directed, and produced by Santosh Kamble, and brought to life in post-production by our very own Rohit Ghokshe as editor and colorist, Mumbai Wari is a cinematic experience that blends personal storytelling with the pulse of the city.
About the Film
At the heart of this 25-minute short film is the journey of a 55-year-old taxi driver and his wife, who are navigating the challenges of a long-distance relationship. Their story is not just about separation—it is about love that endures, the quiet struggles of aging partners, and the resilience needed to hold on to companionship in a city that never stops moving.
Through the lens of Mumbai, the film explores:
The life and rhythm of the city – its taxis, streets, and everyday hustle.
The deep emotional bond between two people who have grown together through years of shared experiences.
The complexities of long-distance relationships at an age when companionship matters the most.
Post-Production Craft
The emotions of Mumbai Wari are carried through not just by its story, but also its cinematic treatment. The editing and color grading by Rohit Ghokshe add a distinctive visual identity that blends the rawness of Mumbai with a tone of intimacy and nostalgia.
